As the festive season approaches and the term draws to a conclu-sion it provides me a great oppor-tunity to introduce myself to our Jets Members and pass on all the latest news relating to Jets Gymnastics in Bendigo.
For me personally it has been a great privilege to be offered the role of Centre Manager for Jets Gymnastics in Bendigo. The op-portunity to be employed in Sport and Recreation has always been very appealing to me and I relish my recent appointment to be part of a professional organisation who values the delivery of high quality gymnastic skills. Prior to this appointment I was employed in the Disability field for a total of 33 years predominantly in Man-agement roles. Initially, I was employed by the Department of Human Services and in the last 10 years my employment has been in the Non-Government Disability Sector.
Diaply Day
The Jets Gymnastics Display Day will be presented on Sunday 18 December and is a celebration which brings together all of the various classes in our gym to per-form gymnastic based perfor-mances to music. This year, our audience will be taken on a musi-cal journey with our performance of ‘Tumbling through the Ages’.
Drop & Shop Day
Drop and Shop Day will be held on Friday 23 December providing parents the perfect opportunity to drop the children off whilst they help Santa prepare for the big day.
This will also be our last day for 2011 and the Centre will not reo-pen until Wednesday 18 January 2012 for the commencement of our School Holiday Program that will conclude on 25 January 2012 with different themes and activi-ties being offered each day. Given the possibility of hot weather during the School Holiday Pro-gram, Jets Gymnastics Bendigo will be enforcing the SHP heat policy if extreme weather is fore-cast. Should the temperature be predicted to be over 35 Celsius, the day will be cancelled. All fami-lies enrolled on the day will be contacted (email and phone call) to inform them of this decision and a refund or credit on account will be offered for each family.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New Year period and all the staff and I look forward to enhancing your child’s gymnastic experience at Jets Bendigo in 2012.

PROGRAM UPDATE
It has been very pleasing of late to see so many coloured t-shirts running around the gym during their classes. It is also very notice-able that there are many children passing their relevant levels and the progression of skills since the introduction of the coloured levels system to now is amazing. This is a real credit to the coach-ing staff and children who are working hard to progress.
Congratulations also goes out to our first BLACK t-shirt recipients - Amy Walker-York-Moore, and Ashlee Richmond, this is a won-derful achievement. Hot on their heels though are many other girls chomping at the bit to complete their black level. Keep up the good work all of you.
Congratulations also to our Mini Jets gymnasts who have graduat-ed into our Fun Gym program this term as it can be quite daunting to join the busy afternoon classes. Our coaches Kylie and Jess have done a great job in preparing the Mini Jets for Fun Gym.
All recreational programs have continued to grow throughout Term 4, with total numbers for Jets Bendigo now passing 350 gymnasts. Thank you for your continued support.
The children have been working hard practicing their routines for Display Day to show all parents, family members and friends. It will be a great event and has been beautifully choreographed by the wonderful and amazing Erin Hokin.
