This week the builders were in to put together the flooring for underneath the sprung floor and vault areas. They worked very hard and got it all down in under 2 days, which left time for them to build our locker room and spotting platform for bars.

Just under 3 months until our brand new High Performance Centre in Diamond Creek is offi-cially opened. Years of planning, changes of plans, more changes of plans and meetings and it has come to this, our very own state of the art Gymnastics Venue.

Enrolments for next year have now begun, please go online and email for classes in 2012. Re-enrolment letters have been dis-tributed to all students; if you have not received these forms please see our friendly office staff.

As the festive season approaches and the term draws to a conclu-sion it provides me a great oppor-tunity to introduce myself to our Jets Members and pass on all the latest news relating to Jets Gymnastics in Bendigo.

I Can Man was very impressed by Dual Winter Olympian Liz Gardner's presentation at the 2011 ACHPER Conference held at Monash University on Thursday November 24th. Liz spoke passionately about the role gymnastics played in her career and how it helped her achieve the heights of not just one but two Olympic Games including reaching the finals of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics in Aerial Skiing.

It is now 2012 and we have been back at Diamond Creek catching up on all the things we had planned to do before our other gyms flooded.

As we come up to the end of 2011, I’d like to take this oppor-tunity to thank all our gymnasts for all their hard work and dedica-tion throughout the year and especially their efforts for Display Day. A big thank you also goes out to all our wonderful parents for bringing your children each week (or several times a week!) and allowing them to join in all the activities, competitions and events gymnastics has to offer.

As 2011 draws to a close we say farewell to Amanda Eastwood our Programs Manager. Amanda has been with us for two & a half years now and during that time she has helped to manage the Mini Jets program and oversee most of our recreational streams. Amanda also mentored our train-ee coaches through their ongoing development.

Our Jets Gymnastics State Squad girls ages range from 9 – 12 who train 8 hours, 3 days a week participated in two competitions this year competing as State 4. The first competi-tion was on the 13th of August 2011 at the YMCA Gymnastics Centre in Geelong where all 8 gymnasts competed

Term 4 marks the end of a very successful competition season for all of our Jets Bendigo Squad gym-nasts. A highlight of the competition season was the recent Natimuk Invitational Competition and Level Award Test.
